Be My Valentine

Essential Oils, Get In The Mood for Love

Happy Valentines Day!

All humans have a basic need to be loved and to feel love; intimate relationships that include a sexual component help to fulfill this need. If a couple desires to improve their emotional intimacy, they can attend seminars, read books, or go to marriage counseling to get some ideas. Because of past experiences and current health concerns, physical intimacy can have inherent challenges including low sex drive, exhaustion/fatigue, aches and pains, chronic illness, hemorrhoids, yeast infections, endometriosis, vaginal dryness, impotence, lack of nitric oxide, oxytocin production, and more.

Many couples turn to an aphrodisiac, which is a substance that enhances or stimulates passion and sexual arousal. An aphrodisiac can also help reduce physical, psychological, or emotional conditions that interfere with passion and sexual arousal. Certain essential oils have long been praised for their aphrodisiac qualities. One of the reasons why they are so effective is that their natural chemical composition works quickly on the circulatory, endocrine, and reproductive systems when applied to the skin (usually diluted).

Essential Oils are an effective aphrodisiac because their aromatic qualities effect:

  • Mood
  • Thought
  • Feelings

Once essential oils are inhaled the odor molecules register a response in the limbic portion of the brain, which is also responsible for sexual behavior and memory, which can influence the body’s sexual response.
