Recipes for Pregnant Women

PREGNANCY SWELLING RELIEF

3 drops Ginger

2 drops Cypress

2 drops Lavender

Combine oils with 2 teaspoons carrier oil; massage into legs and feet.

NO MORE STRETCH MARKS BLEND

10 drops Cypress

10 drops Lavender

10 drops Wild Orange

 

10 drops Invigorating Blend

 

5 drops Geranium

Place oils in a 10ml roller bottle; fill the remainder with a carrier oil. Use twice daily.

STRETCH MARK RELIEF

2 drops Helichrysum

2 drops Lavender

2 drops Myrrh

Mix with 1/2-1 teaspoon fractionated coconut oil (depending on a surface area intended to cover) and apply to abdomen. 

HEALING HEMORRHOIDS

20 drops Helichrysum

20 drops Geranium

20 drops Arborvitae or Cypress

10 drops Peppermint

Make blend in 2-ounce glass bottle with an orifice-reduction seal; mix oils; fill remainder with carrier oil.  Apply at least once or twice daily and/or after every bowel evacuation.  For additional, more intense support if needed.  1 drop of each oil can be applied NEAT.  Any burning sensation should subside within five to ten minutes, or apply carrier oil prior to oil application if desired.  

THE FINAL COUNTDOWN ROLL-ON (reduces swelling and bleeding at labor)

10 drops Clary Sage

10 drops Ginger

Combine oils in a 10ml roller bottle; fill the remainder with a carrier oil.  Twice daily apply a think layer of carrier oil to target areas to improve the distribution of oils; then apply oils.  Apply the blend to low back and ankles every day during the last week of pregnancy.  Massage into skin thoroughly.  

 

JUMP START CONTRACTIONS

1-2 drops Myrrh

1-2 drops Clary Sage

Apply to wrists and abdomen as well as on uterine and cervical reflex points under inside ankle bones once labor begins but has slowed/stalled.

INCREASE MILK SUPPLY SALVE

7 drops Basil

6 drops Clary Sage

4 drops Geranium

Combine 4 tsp fractionated coconut oil to 2 tsp beeswax (approx 1/2 stick).  Melt over low heat.  Cool.  While still soft, add oils to make a salve.  Rub onto breasts throughout the day.  

HELLO WORLD!-recovery for mom and baby:

Fennel, Frankincense, Lavender, Lemon, Joyful Blend

Use as desired at last two times daily to support optimal recovery for mom and bonding with baby.  Use any or all as desired, a drop or few at a time.  Diffuse and/or use topically.  A few drops of each. 

POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION BLENDS

Recipe #1:

1 drop Rose

1 drop Wild Orange

3 drops Sandalwood

Recipe 2:

1 drop Lavender

3 drops Grapefruit

1 drop Ylang Ylang

Recipe 3:

1 drop Bergamot

1 drop Grapefruit

1 drop Clary Sage

1 drop Wild Orange

3 drops Frankincense

Apply topically or diffuse. 

 

AFTER BIRTH TEAR RELIEF

1 drop of witch hazel

4 drops Lavender

4 drops Melaleuca

 

Add Lavender and Melaleuca to a bottle of witch hazel and shake to mix.  Then cut a large menstrual pad into thirds.  Spray the solution over the pads.  Squirt aloe gel down the center and freeze them.  Apply any remaining solution with peri bottle as needed.

ITCHY SKIN BELLY BUTTER

1/2 cup shea butter

1/4 cup coconut oil

1/4 cup sweet almond oil

10 drops soothing blend

Add oil and shea butter and place in an oven-safe glass bowl.  Fill a pot with a couple of inches of water and place glass bowl inside.  Melt butter and oil over medium heat until translucent.  Remove from heat and place in the refrigerator for about 2 hours until solid.  Whip for about 2-3 minutes into butter consistency.  Spoon into jar, cover and refrigerate 1 more hour.  Will store for 6 months at room temperature.  Apply directly to belly or itchy spots to nourish and moisturize skin.  Another solution is to add coriander essential oil.
